Family Ties

We at the Mediterranean Towers see the residents and their extended family as one big community, and make a point of putting together an interesting and diverse cultural program for them too. We believe that the intergenerational relationship is good for us all, and make an effort to generate interest for a wide range of ages and for the entire family: for the little grandchildren and great grandchildren – early childhood activities; for the older grandchildren – performances and sports activities, and a myriad of events, lectures and outings for the entire family.

The Intergenerational Relationship

A variety of activities and events to strengthen the relationship during vacations, holidays and special events – we are always happy to celebrate the holidays with the people we love most – our family. So other than regular visits and day to day contact, you are invited to take part in the special activities we have planned for you and for the special people in your life.

Summer camp for the residents’ grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The five day summer camp takes place in August, at the Nordia complex, for the residents’ grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The summer camp has abundant activities for the children such as an acrobatics workshop, a graffiti workshop, arts and crafts, a water happening in the swimming pool and more.

Of course we don’t forget to incorporate child/ grandparent activities such as drumming or clay workshops, but the highlight of the summer camps is the “Grandma Sandwich” – breakfasts made by the complex’s residents with a taste of yesteryear.

Welcome to First Grade

During the month of August and leading up to the school year, we hold a chain-wide event for the residents’ grandchildren and great-grandchildren who are starting first grade. The festive happening for the entire family takes place at the Savion Intersection Complex.

Saturdays and Jewish Holidays

Saturdays and Jewish Holidays are a magnet, drawing in the extended family to visit the grandparents. Diverse activities, arts and crafts workshops, plays and performances are only a small part of the myriad of activities waiting for the grandchildren in Granny and Grandpa’s cultural calendar. All the family needs to do now is to mark the days on the calendar and wait for the holidays with bated breath.

Community Outreach

Reinforcing the relationship with the community inside the complex as well as the one surrounding it is our guiding light. We are diligent in creating collaborations with the community, and are in constant search for opportunities to share our human capital, cultural wealth and complex facilities with the community.

Open Stage

Providing the residents and their families with a platform to share their knowledge and life experience through seminars, etc., and show their artwork in exhibitions.

Sewing and Knitting Studio

All proceeds from the sewing and knitting studio managed by volunteer residents, are donated to children’s cancer foundations.

Collaboration with the Maccabi Tel Aviv Basket Ball Team

The collaboration includes tickets to the team’s Hall of Fame Museum, guided by one of the greatest shooters in Israel – Doron Jamchi, and to select league games. Every resident may purchase an unlimited number of tickets – for friends and relatives at NIS 30 per ticket.
